Once the shell is up, all that is left is trim, siding, and the roof shingles. Roofing was started on December 1, 2004. Winter is fast approaching.  I can't move in anything until the contractor is finished on the inside and I am getting Click on the pics.
Phase 4: Trim & Siding
December 1:  Ice shield and tar paper goes down.
Roofers install drip edges and roofing paper.
It is almost waterproof.
Visible progress makes me very happy.
This is the same team that demolished the old garage.
Look, shingles!
Not visible from the ground in the front, the new garage is just a small blip on the radar.
December 2: The shingles are about 65 percent completed.
A close-up of the two rooflines meeting.
December 3: The roof is complete with the installation of the continuous ridge vent.
A creative valley will prevent water damage where the roofs meet.
December 6: The 9-foot wide door is in.
It will separate the two garages.
The same day, the 16 footer is in.
This serves as the exit to the rear yard.
Pretty much weathertight now.
Chuck begins trimming around the windows.
The green and red Xmas colors was unintentional.
Dec 17: trim around the 16-foot door is installed.
A close up of a trimmed window.
This is the neighbor's view.
Dec 15: Siding is started on the east wall.
Soffet venting will prevent snow from melting once it's heated.
Dec 17: The east wall is completed.
A larger overhang is present on the west wall which will be bricked.
The north wall gets started.
And on Dec 17 it is completed.
I am happy with the trim work.
This boxed gable end was NOT on the prints, but I will take it.
The wide red trim covers up a rough endge of brick.
I think it turned out quite good.
Early Xmas present, Dec 23: The old garage face is sided and trimmed nicely.
This is the "rabbit view" from the back yard.
Dec 23: Chuck says the trim is complete. Only the brick remains to be installed.
Before 7 inches of snow fell, I retrieved my 66 from Brian's garage and the Lincolns now have a new home.
Never mind the Honda, my '70 Mercury is coming home in April 2005.
